Mitsubishi Outlander Sport transmission software can stall the engine high

Reported 2022-08-02 · Campaign 22V563000 · Model years: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022

These Outlander Sport models have a small computer that runs the automatic transmission. An error in that computer's software can make it pick the wrong gear setting at high speed. When that happens, the engine can shut off — stall — while you are driving. An engine that quits at speed can leave you slowing or stopped in traffic and raises the chance of a crash. The dealer loads corrected software into the transmission computer, which takes little time and costs nothing.

Mitsubishi SUVs may lose braking safety system help high

Reported 2018-09-14 · Campaign 18V621000 · Model years: 2018

The computer that controls braking on these vehicles may have the wrong software loaded. Because of that, safety features that are supposed to step in for you might not work when you need them — including automatic emergency braking, anti-lock brakes that keep the wheels from locking up, stability control that helps the car stay straight, and the brake hold feature. If one of those does not kick in during an emergency, you are more likely to crash. A dealer will reload the correct software for free.

Mitsubishi SUVs brake too long after pedestrian detection medium

Reported 2018-09-14 · Campaign 18V620000 · Model years: 2018

These vehicles have an automatic emergency braking system that watches for people in front of the car. Because of a software error, the system can keep braking longer than it should, even after the person is out of the way. If the car slows down hard for no obvious reason, the driver may hit the brakes too, and the vehicle behind may not stop in time. The dealer reloads the system with corrected software free of charge.
