Some 2018 Porsche Macan and Macan S vehicles have a control unit that can fail. If it does, warning messages and alerts on your driver display may not appear. The failure can also affect how the car drives, and it may keep some safety features from working the way they should after a crash. Porsche dealers will replace the faulty control unit at no cost to you. Notices went out to owners starting July 27, 2018.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your car is included. 2. Call your Porsche dealer and ask for recall AJ05, or reach Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. 3. Have the dealer replace the control unit — the repair is free.
