Porsche Panamera rear anti-roll bar links can detach

NHTSA campaign 18V388000 · Reported 2018-06-13 · Porsche Cars North America, Inc.

high How serious is it? About this label

Serious, because the handling change can come on without warning and raises the risk of a crash, so get it fixed promptly even though Porsche does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

The rear anti-roll bar is a bar across the back of the car that helps keep it steady in turns. On these Panameras, the small links that connect that bar can come loose and fall off. If that happens, they can damage nearby suspension parts, and the car may suddenly feel and steer differently than you expect, especially in a corner. Porsche dealers will replace the links for free.
