Your vehicle uses small sensors to tell when it has been hit hard enough to need the airbags. On these Cherokees, those sensors can fail, so the system may not recognize certain crashes the way it should. If that happens in a collision, the airbags may not go off when they should, or may not go off correctly, leaving people less protected. Dealers will replace the faulty sensors at no charge.
What you should do
1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Cherokee is covered. 2. Call your Jeep dealer or Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall V63) to book the repair. 3. The sensors will be replaced free of charge.

- Remedy
- Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected sensors, free of charge. The recall began August 8, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V63.
