Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon brakes calibrated incorrectly
high How serious is it? About this label
Reduced braking performance increases the risk of a crash, especially when towing; the notice does not tell you to stop driving, but get the free recalibration soon and be extra careful towing until then.
What's wrong, in plain English
When these SUVs were serviced, a dealer technician may have set up the brake system with the wrong settings. That can affect several things that depend on the brakes: the system that keeps the vehicle from sliding sideways, the traction control, the anti-lock brakes, and how the vehicle brakes when you are towing a trailer. Overall, the brakes may not perform the way they should. A dealer will recalibrate the brake system control module to set it right.
