Cadillac CT4 and CT5 side curtain airbags possibly misinstalled
high How serious is it? About this label
An airbag that does not deploy properly increases the risk of injury in a crash, though the notice does not tell owners to stop driving — have the inspection done promptly.
What's wrong, in plain English
The side curtain airbags run along the roof rail above the doors and drop down over the windows in a crash. On these Cadillacs, those airbags may not have been installed correctly. If one is not mounted the way it should be, it may not open properly when a crash happens, so it may not shield your head as intended. Dealers will inspect the airbags on both sides and reinstall them if needed, free.
