Ford Escape, Bronco Sport and Lincoln Corsair May Stall

NHTSA campaign 21V625000 · Reported 2021-08-10 · Ford Motor Company

high How serious is it? About this label

An engine that stalls while you are moving is a real crash risk; the notice does not tell owners to park the vehicle, but this repair should not be put off.

What's wrong, in plain English

The fuel pump assembly inside the gas tank can leak, so fuel reaches the engine at too low a pressure. The engine can then stall while you are driving. A stall can happen in traffic or at highway speed, which raises the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly at no cost. Owners were sent an early notice in September 2021 and a follow-up letter in December 2021 once the repair was available.
