Kia Telluride dashboard display screen may go blank

NHTSA campaign 22V344000 · Reported 2022-05-17 · Kia Motors America

medium How serious is it? About this label

Moderate — losing your dashboard information raises crash risk, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving the vehicle.

What's wrong, in plain English

On some 2022 Kia Telluride SUVs, too much glue was used on a circuit board inside the dashboard display. That extra glue can make the display screen go completely blank. When the screen is blank, you cannot see important information such as your mileage. Because of this, the vehicles do not meet the federal rule covering controls and displays. A dealer will replace the whole instrument cluster behind the steering wheel at no cost to you.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Telluride is affected. 2. Call your Kia dealer or Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 (recall SC237) to schedule the replacement. 3. Have the instrument cluster replaced — the repair is free.
