Ford Bronco and Ranger Windshields May Come Loose

NHTSA campaign 22V451000 · Reported 2022-06-24 · Ford Motor Company

high How serious is it? About this label

This is serious because the windshield could come off in a crash when it should stay in place, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

The windshield on these Broncos and Rangers may not have been glued to the body correctly at the factory. A windshield that is not bonded properly can come loose and separate from the vehicle in a crash, raising the risk of injury to the people inside. Dealers will take the windshield out and reinstall it correctly, and the work is free to the owner. Ford mailed owner letters in July 2022, so check your VIN if you did not see one.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Bronco or Ranger is affected. 2. Contact your Ford dealer or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and give them recall number 22C12. 3. Book the windshield reinstallation — it is free.
