Ford Bronco hardtop roof panels can come apart
high How serious is it? About this label
Serious — a roof section coming off at speed can cause a crash for other drivers, and because the fix is not ready yet, Ford has so far only warned owners rather than telling them to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
The molded-in-color hardtop roofs on these 3-door and 5-door Broncos were not built correctly, so sections of the outer roof panel can separate and fly off the vehicle while you are driving. A piece of roof landing in the road is dangerous for drivers behind you. Ford has already mailed warning letters, but the parts needed for the repair are not expected until around November 2026. When they arrive, dealers will inspect the hardtop and replace it free of charge.
