Jeep Gladiator may not stay in park, could roll

NHTSA campaign 22V639000 · Reported 2022-08-25 · Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)

high How serious is it? About this label

A truck that rolls away on its own can cause a crash or injure someone, but these are unsold vehicles that dealers must fix before delivery, so no owner should be driving one unrepaired.

What's wrong, in plain English

When you shift into park, a small part inside the transmission locks the driveline so the truck cannot move. On these Gladiators, that parking mechanism may not catch the way it should. If it does not, the truck can roll away after you think you have parked it, which can hurt someone nearby or hit another vehicle. The repair is a new transmission. All of these trucks in the U.S. are unsold and will be repaired before they can be sold.
