Some 2023 Hyundai Palisades have a problem with the brake booster, the part that uses engine vacuum to make the brake pedal easy to press. A rubber diaphragm inside can shift out of position and leak, so the booster stops helping. When that happens the pedal feels hard and you must push much harder, and the vehicle needs a longer distance to stop. A dealer will inspect the booster and replace it if needed, free of charge.

Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023 Palisade vehicles. The brake booster diaphragm may become misaligned and cause an internal vacuum leak, which can result in a loss of power brake assist.
Safety risk: A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake booster as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 245.
