high How serious is it? About this label

A vehicle that rolls away after being parked can cause a crash, so have this repaired as soon as possible.

What's wrong, in plain English

On certain 2023 Broncos, the transmission's park system may have been damaged during assembly. The parking pawl is the part inside the transmission that locks the wheels when you shift into Park. If it does not fully engage, the vehicle can roll away on its own after you park it. Ford dealers will replace the entire transmission at no cost to you. Owner notification letters for this recall were mailed on August 11, 2023.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Bronco is affected. 2. Schedule the transmission replacement with a Ford dealer, or call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall number 23S44). 3. The new transmission is installed free of charge.
