The tire and loading information sticker on some 2024 Tucsons may list a pressure for a spare tire when the vehicle does not actually come with one. Nothing on the vehicle itself is broken — the label simply gives information that does not match the car. The concern is confusion: if you get a flat tire and check the sticker while sorting things out on the roadside, it could send you looking for a spare that is not there. Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2024 Tucson vehicles. The tire and loading information label may incorrectly indicate information about a spare tire. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Safety risk: A label that incorrectly states spare tire pressure when there is no spare tire on-board may cause confusion during an emergency tire replacement, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the tire and loading information label, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 5, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 247.
