Certain 2023 Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks have a feature called Pro Trailer Hitch Assist that helps you line the truck up with a trailer. When you use that feature, the normal rear camera picture may not appear on the screen the way it should. Without the usual view behind the truck, you can miss a person, another vehicle, or an object back there while you are reversing.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if recall 23V573000 (Ford number 23S46) applies to your truck.
2. Contact a Ford dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, to book the service.
3. Have the driver-assistance software updated, which is free of charge.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 F-Super Duty F250, F350, and F450 vehicles equipped with the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature. The default rearview camera image may not be displayed when using the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature.
Safety risk
An incorrect rearview camera image can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy
Dealers will update the Advanced Drive Assistance System (ADAS) module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 5, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S46.
