Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator: sudden engine oil leak
critical How serious is it? About this label
This is the most serious one here: the engine can stall without warning and the leaking oil can catch fire, so get it inspected right away.
What's wrong, in plain English
A small plug pressed into the engine may be out of line. If it slips, engine oil can pour out quickly. Losing oil that fast can make the engine shut down while you are driving, and oil that lands on hot engine or exhaust parts can start a fire. The dealer will check whether the plug is lined up correctly and put in a new one if it is not, at no charge to you.
What you should do
2. Contact your Ford or Lincoln dealer immediately for the inspection, or call Ford at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 24S70).
3. Watch for oil smells, smoke, or a low-oil warning, and stop driving if you see any. The repair is free.
