What's wrong, in plain English

Some 2023 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks were repaired incorrectly under an earlier recall. Because of that, the normal backup camera picture may not appear on the screen while you are using the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature that helps line the truck up with a trailer. Without the usual view, you could miss a person or object behind you. Dealers will reload the correct software into the driver assistance computer, free of charge.

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your truck is included. 2. Call your Ford dealer and ask for recall 25S17, or contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332. 3. Get the free software update for the driver assistance module.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 23V-573. The default rearview camera image may not be displayed when using the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature.
Safety risk
An incorrect rearview camera image can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy
Dealers will update the Advanced Drive Assistance System (ADAS) module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 4, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S17.
