Mercedes-Benz C-Class driver seat belt anchor may loosen

NHTSA campaign 25V253000 · Reported 2025-05-02 · Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC

high How serious is it? About this label

A seat belt that doesn't restrain you properly raises your risk of injury in a crash; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but have it inspected soon.

What's wrong, in plain English

On these Mercedes C 300 and AMG C 43 vehicles, a cover on the driver's side seat belt may not have been installed correctly on the belt tensioner. If that cover is wrong, the seat belt anchor — the point where the belt is fastened to the car — can work loose. A loose anchor means the belt may not hold you properly in a crash. Dealers will inspect the seat belt covers and repair them if needed, free of charge.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is covered. 2. Contact your Mercedes-Benz dealer or MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 (recall 2025040012). 3. Have the driver's seat belt cover inspected and repaired — the work is free.
