Ford Bronco and Ranger front suspension bolt may fail

NHTSA campaign 25V310000 · Reported 2025-05-09 · Ford Motor Company

critical How serious is it? About this label

Ford does not tell owners to park the vehicle, but losing steering control while driving can cause a serious crash, so treat this as urgent and have it inspected right away.

What's wrong, in plain English

A bolt in the front suspension may be missing or not tightened properly on some Broncos and Rangers. That bolt holds an upper suspension arm to the wheel assembly. If it works loose or falls out, the arm can separate from the wheel, and you could lose the ability to steer the vehicle. Ford mailed owner letters in May 2025. The dealer will check the bolt and tighten it, or replace it if it is damaged.
