Serious — if you are in a crash, the passenger airbag itself could hurt the person it is supposed to protect; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving the vehicle.

What's wrong, in plain English

The airbag in front of the passenger seat may have been built incorrectly at the factory. Instead of cushioning the person in a crash, it can inflate with too much force. That extra force can injure whoever is sitting in that seat during a crash. Dealers will remove the passenger side airbag and install a new one at no charge. Owner letters were mailed on August 8, 2025.

Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2025 Navigator and Expedition vehicles. The passenger side air bag may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause the air bag to deploy with excessive force during a crash.
Safety risk: An air bag that deploys with excessive force can increase the risk of injury during a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the passenger side air bags, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 8, 2025. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S51.
