Ford Expedition PARK warning too short after earlier repair
medium How serious is it? About this label
An unexpected rollaway can injure someone or cause a crash, and the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, so keep using the parking brake every time.
What's wrong, in plain English
Some 2019 Ford Expeditions that were already repaired under an earlier recall did not get the fix done right. The warning message and chime that tell you the transmission is not in PARK last a shorter time than they should. That means you may step out of the vehicle without realizing it was never shifted into PARK, and the Expedition could roll on its own. A dealer will reload the correct gauge cluster software for free.
