Acura ZDX dashboard display and backup camera may fail

NHTSA campaign 26V112000 · Reported 2026-02-26 · Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)

high How serious is it? About this label

Losing your speedometer, warning lights, or backup camera raises the chance of a crash or injury, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving — get it fixed promptly and use your mirrors and a look over your shoulder when backing up.

What's wrong, in plain English

A software bug can make the main dashboard screen go blank, so you may not see your speed or the warning lights that tell you something is wrong with the car. The same problem can also leave the backup camera showing a blank screen when you shift into reverse, so you get no picture of what is behind you. A dealer will reload the radio control module software to fix both problems.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your car is included (VINs are searchable starting March 4, 2026). 2. Call your Acura dealer and schedule the software update, or reach Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 (recall numbers TNL and XNK). 3. Have the update done — the repair is free.

Summary
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 Acura ZDX and Prologue vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. Additionally, a software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Control and Displays," 111, "Rear Visibility," and 305, "Electric-Powered Vehicles."
Safety risk
An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash or injury. Additionally, the loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy
Dealers will update the vehicle radio control module software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 22, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138.
