The backup camera can show a distorted picture or no picture at all when you shift into reverse. That leaves you without a clear view of what is behind the vehicle while backing up, including people or objects low to the ground. Honda has mailed letters warning owners, but replacement cameras are not ready yet; the fix is expected in late 2026. Honda will send a second letter when you can book the free camera replacement.
A software bug can make the main dashboard screen go blank, so you may not see your speed or the warning lights that tell you something is wrong with the car. The same problem can also leave the backup camera showing a blank screen when you shift into reverse, so you get no picture of what is behind you. A dealer will reload the radio control module software to fix both problems.
The bolts holding the bracket for the front stabilizer bar on the passenger side may not have been tightened enough, so they can work loose and pull away from the frame. If the bar or its bracket falls partly off, it can hit and damage the high-voltage cables or the battery coolant lines underneath. That can shut the vehicle down and leave you without power to move. Dealers will inspect and tighten the bolts and repair any damage for free.
Bolts that hold a front suspension bracket to the vehicle's frame can work loose and fall out. If the bracket comes free, it can rub against or damage the thick high-voltage cables or the cooling lines that keep the battery at the right temperature. Damage to either one can shut down the electric drive system, so the vehicle could suddenly stop pulling while you are driving.
On some 2024 Acura ZDX All-Wheel Drive models, the anti-lock brake system can switch on when it should not and let go of the pressure in the brakes. If that happens while you are slowing down, you can lose braking power with no warning. The fix is a software update for the brake control computer. It can either arrive over the air to the car itself or be installed by a dealer. Owner letters were mailed September 26, 2024.
