Volvo EX30 seat belt warning chime may not sound

NHTSA campaign 26V136000 · Reported 2026-03-11 · Volvo Car USA, LLC

low How serious is it? About this label

This is a low-level problem and the notice does not restrict driving, but an unbelted person who never hears a reminder faces a higher chance of injury in a crash, so buckle up every trip.

What's wrong, in plain English

The chime that reminds you to buckle up may not sound. A bad electrical connection at the audio module keeps the warning beep from playing, so a driver or passenger riding unbelted may never get the reminder. The seat belts themselves still work normally; only the alert is affected. Because of this, the vehicle does not meet the federal safety rule for seat belt warnings. A dealer will replace the connector parts at no charge.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (these vehicles became searchable March 13, 2026). 2. Call Volvo customer service at 1-800-458-1552 or your dealer, referencing recall R10365. 3. Book the connector terminal replacement; the repair is free.
