Honda CB1000SP motorcycle fuel hose may come loose

NHTSA campaign 26V194000 · Reported 2026-03-26 · Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)

critical How serious is it? About this label

This is serious — a fuel leak near the rear tire can cause a crash, and leaking gas near an ignition source can start a fire, so get the repair done right away and do not ride if you smell or see fuel.

What's wrong, in plain English

On these motorcycles, the hose that carries gasoline from the fuel tank to the engine can come disconnected at the tank. If that happens, gas leaks out while you ride. The fuel can spill near the rear tire, which can make you lose control, and gasoline near anything hot or sparking can catch fire. A dealer will replace the fuel hose and secure a nearby wiring harness so the hose stays put.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your motorcycle is affected (VINs are searchable starting April 4, 2026). 2. Contact your Honda motorcycle dealer or Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870 (recall number KU5) to schedule the repair. 3. Have the fuel hose replaced — the repair is free.
