Losing your speedometer and warning lights while driving raises the risk of a crash, so get the software updated promptly; Nissan has not told owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

A software error in the instrument display of certain 2025 and 2026 Kicks vehicles can make the screen in front of the driver go partly or completely blank. When that happens you cannot see your speed or any warning lights, so you would not know how fast you are going or that something needs attention. Because of this the display does not meet the federal rule for controls and displays. Dealers will reprogram the software.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls — affected VINs became searchable on May 22, 2026.
2. Book the software update with a Nissan dealer, or call Nissan customer service at 800-647-7261 about recall PMA66.
3. Have the combination meter reprogrammed, free of charge.

Summary
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Kicks vehicles. A software error in the combination meter may cause the screen display to go partially or fully blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."
Safety risk
A partial or blank screen display will not show critical safety information such as vehicle speed and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will resume the software reprogramming of the combination meter software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 6, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA66. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on May 22, 2026.
