Nissan and Infiniti driver airbag may deploy improperly
high How serious is it? About this label
An air bag that deploys improperly may not protect the driver as intended during a crash, increasing the risk of injury. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
Because of a manufacturing problem, the driver's airbag in these Nissan and Infiniti vehicles can soak up moisture. A damp airbag may not inflate the way it is supposed to in a crash. That means the airbag in the steering wheel might not protect the driver properly in a collision. There is no warning light or symptom you can check yourself. The dealer replaces the whole driver's airbag at no cost.
What you should do
