3. Ask the seller directly whether the car has ever stalled, hesitated or failed to restart
4. Verify the side curtain airbag recall was performed and that no airbag warning light is lit
5. Open recalls are repaired free at any Mazda dealer, whoever owns the car — an open recall is a to-do item, not a bill.
