Chevy Express and GMC Savana cutaway brake line leak critical

Reported 2024-09-19 · Campaign 24V702000 · Model years: 2018

Certain 2013-2019 Chevrolet Express Cutaway and GMC Savana Cutaway vehicles built with the optional GM body mounts have a brake line routed too close to those mounts. Contact or rubbing can damage the line, and a damaged line can leak brake fluid. If enough fluid leaks out, the brakes can fail. GM mailed a first letter in November 2024 warning owners about the danger; a second letter goes out when the repair parts are ready, expected around February 28, 2025.

Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana cutaway van wiring fire risk critical

Reported 2023-04-06 · Campaign 23V247000 · Model years: 2018, 2022, 2023

These are cutaway vans — the bare chassis and cab sold to be finished off as a box truck, shuttle, or camper. They were wired ahead of time for an optional rear heating and air-conditioning system. If that system was never fitted, the connectors and wires for the blower motor are left open and unused. Sitting exposed like that, the circuit can corrode and overheat, which GM says raises the risk of a fire. A dealer will seal the wiring properly.
