Mazda3 and CX-30 airbags may shut themselves off high

Reported 2025-05-29 · Campaign 25V357000 · Model years: 2024, 2025

The control unit that decides when to fire the airbags can log an error and switch the airbags off when the vehicle's battery runs low. If that happens, the airbags will not inflate in a crash, so you lose a major piece of protection without necessarily realizing it. Dealers will reprogram the control unit with improved software, or replace the unit if needed, at no cost. Owner letters were mailed in July 2025.

Mazda3, CX-30 and CX-50 camera disables automatic braking medium

Reported 2024-09-03 · Campaign 24V649000 · Model years: 2024

The camera near the windshield that watches the road ahead may stop working properly. When that happens, three features can fail: the automatic emergency braking that stops the car for you, the lane-keep assist that nudges the steering to hold you in your lane, and the automatic switch from high beams to low beams for oncoming traffic. Your brakes, steering and headlights still work normally when you use them yourself; only the automatic helpers are affected.

Mazda CX-30 and CX-50 may have reduced braking high

Reported 2023-04-18 · Campaign 23V275000 · Model years: 2022, 2023

The control unit for the anti-lock brake system may be damaged. This is the part that manages brake pressure, and if it is damaged, the brakes may not work as well as they should. You may need more distance than normal to bring the vehicle to a stop, which matters most in a sudden stop or on a slippery road. Dealers will check the unit and replace it if it is damaged, at no cost to you.

Mazda3 and CX-30 tire valves may leak air high

Reported 2021-02-22 · Campaign 21V101000 · Model years: 2021

On certain 2021 Mazda3 and CX-30 cars, the small valve you use to add air to a tire can suddenly let air escape. A tire that loses air quickly while you are driving can make the car pull or become hard to steer, and you may not get much warning before it happens. Mazda is replacing the valves on all four tires so the problem cannot occur.

Mazda CX-30 power liftgate can lower unexpectedly medium

Reported 2021-02-18 · Campaign 21V086000 · Model years: 2020, 2021

On some 2020-2021 CX-30s, the power liftgate can drop part way down on its own after you have opened it all the way. It happens when the vehicle is parked on a slope facing uphill. If you are leaning into the cargo area when it starts coming down, it can hit you. Dealers will update the software that controls the liftgate, check the serial number on the liftgate motor, and replace it if needed — free.

Mazda3 and CX-30 front brake parts may loosen high

Reported 2020-06-12 · Campaign 20V346000 · Model years: 2020

On these 2020 Mazda3 and CX-30 cars, the bolts that hold the front brake calipers may not have been tightened enough at the factory. The caliper is the part that squeezes the brake pads against the wheel to slow the car down. If it loosens, the brakes may not stop the car as well as they should, or the loose part can rub against the spinning wheel and upset how the car handles. Dealers check and tighten the bolts, or replace the caliper, free.

Mazda CX-30 all-wheel drive may leak fuel high

Reported 2020-06-12 · Campaign 20V347000 · Model years: 2020

Some 2020 CX-30 vehicles with all-wheel drive have a vent hose on the fuel tank that may be disconnected. When that hose comes loose, fuel can leak out of the vent at the back of the vehicle. Leaking fuel near anything hot or sparking can start a fire, and the engine can also stall while you are driving. Mazda dealers will check the hose, reconnect it if needed, and replace the charcoal canister and some related parts free of charge.
