There is no instruction to stop driving, but anyone riding in that rear seat is at greater risk of injury in a crash until the buckle is replaced.

What's wrong, in plain English

The buckle for the rear passenger-side seat belt may break when it is pulled hard, such as in a crash. It works normally otherwise, so there is no warning sign while you drive. If it breaks during a crash, whoever is sitting in that seat would not be held in place and could be hurt worse. Porsche also says these vehicles do not meet the federal safety rules for seat belt assemblies.

Summary: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2019 Porsche Cayenne vehicles. The passenger side rear seat belt buckle may break under load, such as in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."
Safety risk: If the seat belt buckle breaks in the event of a crash, the occupant will not be properly restrained, increasing their risk of injury.
Remedy: Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger rear seat belt buckle, free of charge. The recall began November 30, 2018. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AJ09.
