What's wrong, in plain English

A metal suspension part that holds the driver's side front wheel in place — the upper control arm — may have been installed with cracks in it. If that part breaks while you are driving, the wheel can move out of position and you can suddenly lose the ability to steer the car. Porsche says owners should not drive these vehicles. A dealer will replace the cracked part with a new one at no cost to you.

Summary: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2024 Cayenne vehicles. The driver's side front axle upper left control arm installed on the vehicles may have been installed with cracks, which can result in front axle control arm breaking and an unexpected loss of steering and wheel control.
Safety risk: A sudden loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver side left upper control arm, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 13, 2024. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ARB2.
