What's wrong, in plain English

On some 2019 RAM 1500 trucks, a bolt that grounds the battery to the driver-side front fender may not have been tightened properly at the factory. If it is loose, you can lose power steering assist. When that happens, the steering suddenly gets much heavier or lighter than you expect, and the truck can turn more or less than you intended. The dealer simply tightens that ground fastener correctly.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your truck is affected. 2. Call your RAM dealer or Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and mention recall V04. 3. Have the ground fastener secured — the repair is free.
