Volvo VNL and VNX sleeper bunk window may fall off

NHTSA campaign 19V208000 · Reported 2019-03-18 · Volvo Trucks North America

high How serious is it? About this label

Serious — the truck is not ordered off the road, but a window falling off in traffic can cause a crash or injure someone nearby, so get it fixed promptly.

What's wrong, in plain English

Certain 2018-2020 Volvo VNL and VNX trucks built as 740 and 760 sleeper models have a window in the sleeper bunk that can come loose and fall off the truck. A window that falls off can hit another vehicle or a person nearby. Dealers will replace the window hinge at no cost. Owners were first notified in April 2019, with a second notice sent once repair parts became available.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your truck is included (Volvo Trucks' number is RVXX1902).
2. Contact your Volvo Trucks dealer or customer service at 1-800-528-6586 to schedule the hinge replacement; the repair became available August 21, 2019.
3. Have the window hinge replaced — the repair is free.
