Certain 2017-2018 fire trucks built on the Ford F-550 by Unruh Fire have Whelen brake lights. Depending on how the truck was wired, the brake lights may come on even though the driver has not pressed the brake pedal. Drivers behind the truck may think it is slowing down when it isn't. Unruh Fire has notified owners and will replace the brake lights free of charge. The recall began May 20, 2019.
