Serious for anyone riding in the front passenger seat during a crash; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but it is safest to keep that seat empty until the belt has been inspected.

What's wrong, in plain English

On some Ranger trucks with the SuperCab body style, the front passenger seat belt may have been put together incorrectly at the factory. A belt that is not assembled the right way may not hold the person in that seat properly during a crash, so a passenger could be hurt worse than they otherwise would be. Ford dealers will inspect the right front seat belt and replace the whole belt assembly if needed, at no cost to you.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Ranger is covered. 2. Call your Ford dealer or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 19S23) to schedule the free inspection and replacement. 3. Until then, have passengers ride in another seat.
