Ford Ranger rear head restraints block child seat installation
high How serious is it? About this label
An improperly attached child seat can increase the risk of injury in a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
On certain 2020-2021 Ranger Super Cab trucks, the rear head restraints are fixed in place and can get in the way when you install some types of child seats. On top of that, the lower anchor bars in the back seat may not line up correctly, so the child seat may not clip on the way it should. A dealer will check and adjust the anchors and swap the fixed head restraints for removable ones, free of charge.
