A software error in these 2020 911 Carrera models means the hazard warning lights may not come on when you press the button. Those are the four-way flashers you use to warn other drivers when you are stopped on the road, broken down, or slowing suddenly. If they do not come on, drivers behind you may not realize your car is a hazard. A dealer will reprogram the control unit so the flashers work normally again.

Component: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HAZARD FLASHING WARNING LIGHTS
Summary: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2020 911 Carrera S Coupe, Cabrio, Coupe, 4 Coupe, 4S Coupe, 4 Cabrio, 4S Cabrio, and S Cabrio vehicles. Due to a software error, the hazard warning lights may not function when activated by an operator. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Safety risk: If the hazard warning lights cannot be activated, there is an increased risk of a crash in a hazard situation.
Remedy: Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the control unit, free of charge. The recall began February 7, 2020. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AKC1.
