Infiniti Q60 rear seat belts may not lock

NHTSA campaign 20V145000 · Reported 2020-03-13 · Nissan North America, Inc.

medium How serious is it? About this label

This is a real injury risk in a crash with more than one impact, since the belt may not restrain the person properly, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

Some 2020 Infiniti Q60 cars have rear seat belts with a dual-mode locking mechanism. The sensor that is supposed to lock the belt webbing may not lock the way it should. If that happens, the rear belt may not hold a passenger firmly in place during a crash. Dealers will check the production dates on the rear seat belt assemblies and replace them if needed, at no charge. The recall began May 4, 2020.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your Q60 is covered. 2. Contact your Infiniti dealer, or Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, to book the rear seat belt inspection. 3. Let the dealer replace the belts if needed — inspection and replacement are free.
