What's wrong, in plain English

These Ram 1500 trucks have pedals that move forward and back to fit the driver. In some pedal positions, the driver's floormat can get in the way of the gas pedal and stop it from springing back to idle when you lift your foot. That means the truck may keep pulling when you expect it to slow down. Dealers will modify the driver's floormat so it can no longer interfere with the pedal, at no charge.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see whether your truck is covered. 2. Contact your Ram dealer or FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall W63) to book the free floormat modification. 3. In the meantime, make sure the driver's floormat is properly positioned and not stacked on top of another mat.

Safety risk
A pedal that does not return as expected may affect the vehicle's deceleration, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will modify the driver's floormat to remove the potential for pedal interference, free of charge. The recall began September 10, 2020. Owners may contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is W63.
