Some 2021 Genesis G70s with the 2.0-liter engine have a fuel pump with a tiny piece of leftover plastic inside. That bit can block the small nozzle that sends fuel to the engine. Without enough fuel, the engine can stall, meaning it suddenly stops running while you are driving. Hyundai dealers will inspect the fuel pump nozzle and repair it free of charge. Owner letters went out starting November 10, 2020.

2. Contact your Genesis or Hyundai dealer and ask for recall 005G, or call 1-855-371-9460.
3. Let the dealer inspect and repair the fuel pump jet nozzle at no charge.

Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021 Genesis G70 vehicles equipped with 2.0L GDI engines. The fuel pump's jet nozzle may have a plastic burr remaining from the manufacturing process, possibly causing a blocked nozzle and an insufficient fuel supply to the engine.
Safety risk: Insufficient fuel supply can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the fuel pump assembly jet nozzle, free of charge. The recall began November 10, 2020. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 005G.
