On some 2016-2018 Jettas, the bolts holding the fuel rail, the metal pipe that feeds gasoline to the engine, can work loose over time. If they loosen enough, gasoline can leak out, and a fuel leak raises the risk of a fire. Volkswagen dealers will replace those bolts, and the fuel rail itself if needed, at no cost. If you smell gasoline, stop driving and call Volkswagen or a dealer right away.

Summary: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Jetta vehicles. The fuel rail bolts may become loose over time, allowing fuel to leak.
Safety risk: A fuel leak increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel rail bolts and, as necessary, the fuel rail. The recall began March 31, 2021. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 24Gi.
