Ram 4500 and 5500 brake line may wear through
high How serious is it? About this label
This one can cost you your rear brakes, so treat it as urgent; the notice does not tell owners to park the truck, but have it looked at right away and watch for any change in how the brakes feel.
What's wrong, in plain English
These trucks were modified by Excellance and fitted with CLASS suspension systems. The flexible hose that carries brake fluid to a rear brake may have been routed where it touches a suspension part. Over time that contact can wear the hose out and let brake fluid leak. If that happens, you can lose some or all of your rear braking, which makes a crash more likely. A dealer installs a kit that repairs any damage and prevents it from happening again.
