Ram trucks: instrument panel display can suddenly go blank
high How serious is it? About this label
Losing your gear indicator and every warning light at once is a real crash risk, and while Chrysler has not told owners to stop driving, this should be fixed promptly.
What's wrong, in plain English
A software error can make the instrument panel go blank — that is the display behind the steering wheel showing your speed, which gear you are in, and the warning lights. With it dark, you cannot tell whether you are in Drive or Reverse, and you would not see alerts about the brakes, stability control, low tire pressure, or the airbags. Chrysler mailed letters in May 2026; a dealer reloads the software.
