Nissan Armada and INFINITI QX80 fuel pumps can fail

NHTSA campaign 21V373000 · Reported 2021-05-20 · Nissan North America, Inc.

high How serious is it? About this label

Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

A small spinning part inside the fuel pump can swell up and jam, which makes the pump quit. When the pump stops, gasoline stops reaching the engine and the engine can shut off while you are driving. Losing the engine in traffic makes a crash more likely. This affects Armada and QX80 models with the V8 engine. Dealers will put in a whole new fuel pump unit at no charge to you.
