Nissan and Infiniti backup camera may not show image
medium How serious is it? About this label
A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
When you start the vehicle, a software glitch in the touchscreen system can keep the backup camera picture from showing up. Shift into reverse and the screen may stay blank, so you cannot see what is behind you. Federal rules require that picture to appear. This affects certain Nissan Murano and Armada and Infiniti QX80 models. The fix is a software update, done either at the dealer or sent to the vehicle over the air, at no charge.
What you should do
2. Watch for the over-the-air software update, or book the update with your dealer.
3. If you have questions, call Nissan at 800-647-7261 or Infiniti at 1-800-662-6200 — the update is free, and owner letters were mailed February 2, 2026.
