What's wrong, in plain English

Certain 2022 Honda Odyssey minivans may have bent parts in the locking mechanism on the rails under the second-row window-side seats. Those locks are what hold a seat in position once you slide it forward or back. If the lock is bent, the seat may not click securely into place and can shift or slide while the vehicle is moving, even if it feels locked when you set it.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your van is included. 2. Call your Honda dealer or Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 and reference recall YBE. 3. Have the dealer replace both second-row outboard seat frames at no cost.

Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2022 Odyssey vehicles. The second-row outboard seats may have deformed seat rail locking mechanisms, which could prevent the seat rails from locking into place.
Safety risk: A seat that is not locked into place can move unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace both second-row outboard seat frames, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 4, 2021. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is YBE.
