Honda and Acura passenger seat sensor may crack
high How serious is it? About this label
The notice says an airbag that goes off when it should not during a crash can increase the risk of injury. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
Honda is recalling certain 2020 through 2022 Honda and Acura vehicles, including Accord, Civic, CR-V, HR-V, Odyssey, Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline, Fit, Insight and the Acura MDX, RDX and TLX. The sensor that measures the weight of the person in the front passenger seat can crack and short out. When that happens, the system may not switch off the front passenger airbag when it is supposed to.
What you should do
2. Contact a Honda or Acura dealer to have the seat weight sensors replaced, or call Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda says this is a phased recall.
3. The replacement is free of charge.
