What's wrong, in plain English

The metal frames inside the second-row seat backs may not have been welded together well enough. If those welds come apart, the seat back can give way instead of staying firm. In a crash, the seat is a big part of what holds a passenger in place, so a seat back that separates may not hold someone properly and that person could be hurt more badly. A dealer will inspect the seats and replace any that are affected.

Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2022 Pathfinder vehicles. The second-row seat back frames may have insufficient welds that could separate.
Safety risk: Seat backs with separated welds may fail to adequately restrain occupants during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replaced the seat assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 17, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PC845, PC846, and PC847.
