Nissan Rogue, Frontier, Pathfinder backup camera can quit
medium How serious is it? About this label
Moderate: there is no instruction to stop driving, but a backup camera that cuts out reduces what you can see behind you and increases the chance of a crash while reversing.
What's wrong, in plain English
Certain 2021-2022 Nissan Rogue and 2022 Frontier, Pathfinder and Titan rental vehicles have a problem with the dashboard infotainment system. If the SiriusXM satellite radio subscription is set to "Not Subscribed," the unit can restart on its own, and while that happens the backup camera stops working. Because of this, these vehicles do not meet the federal rear-visibility rule. Without a camera picture you can see less behind you when reversing, raising the risk of a crash.

- Summary
- Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Rogue, 2022 Frontier, Pathfinder, and Titan rental vehicles.
